Learning About Recycling Services

Hello, I am Jolene Bonnell. I am going to use my site to discuss all of the techniques and tools you can use to recycle waste. There are a number of recycling programs in each community. You can recycle your electronics, scrap metal, cardboard and textiles if you know where to find your local drop off points. Some communities even provide food waste recycling services that turn old food into compost. I hope you can use the information on my site to increase the amount of waste you recycle at the proper venues. Thanks for visiting. I hope to see you again soon.

Vamp Up Your Boring Garage With Upcycled Stainless Steel Sheeting

Nelli Joki

Stainless steel sheeting is used in array of different applications, both industrial and residential. If you are a homeowner who happens to have a few sheets of stainless steel metal sheeting hanging around after a project, you should hang onto it. Before you whisk those extra materials off to the recycling center, there are a few things you should consider about how it could be used around the house--specifically, in the garage. You could easily transform the look of your dull and drab garage with just a few pieces of stainless steel sheeting.

Create a more functional and attractive work surface.

Covering a workbench with a sheet of stainless steel is only a logical change but will also give your garage a more attractive look. Stainless steel sheets can be tacked right onto a wooden workbench or even molded to fit around it with the help of a good metal fabricator. Because steel is much easier to keep clean, overall, your garage will look much more well kept after big projects.

Add a focal point to the space and help to evenly distribute heat.

Covering just one wall with a piece of stamped stainless steel will give the garage a totally different design appeal, making it look more like an industrial workplace. However, a sheet of metal, especially reflective stainless steel, helps to deflect heat out into a space for a more evenly distributed temperature in the colder months. This is especially useful if you have a wood stove in your garage or a small space heater that does not do a good job of spreading heat throughout the space on its own.

Protect the concrete flooring of your garage.

If you have a few large sheets of steel sheeting hanging around, consider using the sheeting to protect the floor of your garage. It is especially useful to keep the area where you normally park your vehicle protected from drips and stains. However, this is ideal of you consistently work on vehicles in your garage as well. The steel sheeting does not have to be attached, but it can be anchored down with concrete bolts if you choose to do so for added stability and can easily be removed later on. If you plan to use a steel sheet for garage floor protection, it is a good idea to use a grinder to round out corners to make them lower profiled.
